I spent a few nights in a roof tent both in the Alps and in the Polish mountains. I slept in various conditions - once I was accompanied by high temperatures, other times at night the air was very humid.
At high temperatures, sleeping was comfortable – it wasn’t too hot inside, mainly due to the large number of windows with mosquito nets that allowed airflow. On the other hand, when it was cooler and more humid at night, sleeping in a tent was not the most pleasant experience. The temperature inside was low and everything was wet, which further lowered the temperature in the tent. As for the "standard" conditions, sleeping in the tent was as comfortable as possible, although the mattress in the tent is too hard and I had to use an extra thin layer to improve sleeping comfort.
When it comes to unfolding the tent, it takes 5 seconds, and so does the folding, and I consider it a big plus. A small drawback, however, is the cover of the tent with numerous strings that work quite hard while driving.
I would highly recommend a tent for trips to trainings in the mountains or competitions, I use such an alternative myself. I would love to use the rooftop tent again. I like camping, but I also like the comfort while traveling, which is a very good combination."
